The latest guest on The Scrum Podcast is Olivier Brett. If you’re a soccer fan from Montreal, you probably know him already. He was the colour commentator of the inaugural Montreal Impact MLS broadcast team on TVA Sports before moving to RDS where he started his play-by-play career. He is one of the few who has done play-by-play in both French and English thanks to his work on TSN690AM in Montreal. He is now the play-by-play commentator for the new CF Montreal radio broadcasts on 91.9 Sports as well as being one of the three hosts of RDS’ new quiz show Les Trois Étoiles.
On this episode, Jonathan welcomes Esmeralda Negron, the co-founder of Atalanta Media – the company that brought England’s FA Women’s Super League to NBC Sports and Sportsnet, and France’s D1 Arkéma to ESPN+. They discuss how Atalanta got those deals done, and the growing interest in European club soccer in North America and worldwide.
