As reported earlier by Kristian Jack of TSN, I can confirm Chris Armas will be announced as TFC’s new manager.
Toronto FC and the former New York Red Bull manager have agreed on a multi-year agreement, I have been told it is a 3 year deal with a club option for the fourth year, but details are still to be confirmed.
Chris Armas was an assistant-manager of the Red Bulls under General Manager Ali Curtis (current TFC GM) and was promoted as their manager when Jesse Marsch left to take reigns of Red Bull Salzburg in July 2018. Armas has a record of 33 wins, 11 draws, and 27 losses as manager in MLS, for a winning percentage of 46.48%.
Toronto FC have not officially commented on the matter, and have not responded to comment requests, as of the writing of these lines.
